My name is Kathryn Kirkland-Franco and I am so happy you are exploring opportunities to improve your overall wellness. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the State of Texas. After many years of experience, I find myself pulling from a variety of therapeutic modalities depending on the needs of the individuals I serve. My foundations are primarily Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe the answers to many life questions and issues can be found inside ourselves and that they can more easily be tapped into when we engage in a trusting therapeutic relationship. When I meet people through the course of normal daily interactions, they often guess that I am a therapist, citing my calm and reassuring nature. I encourage you to reach out if this is the kind of therapeutic relationship you are looking for and if not, I wish you all the best and congratulate you on your progress toward self-care.

I have made significant personal growth with Kathryn's assistance and insights. She is an excellent listener and has a vast amount of experience and expertise. She has helped me immensely. I appreciate her calmness and ability to hone in on the important issues and bring the conversation back around to that if needed. I feel like things I learned I carry outside the session and am able to use other tools better, like meditation and self -care. She knows her stuff!

Kathryn was my second therapist here in better help, and she has been so authentic. I feel like she got to know me first and told me a little bit about herself which made it easy and confortable when it was time to open up about certain things. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a great therapist

I was very hesitant to initiate therapy. I have always known the importance, but like many, thought I could “handle” every issue/problem in life. In a short time, Kathryn Kirkland-Franco has not only changed my mentality towards therapy, but also helped me identify the root cause of some problematic aspects in my every day life. She is patient, empathetic and very knowledgeable. Definitely not enough adjectives to describe her and her therapeutic skills.

I am so thankful that I was paired with Kathryn as my therapist. She has been helping me navigate through a very tough and confusing situation as well as the “everyday” issues of life. She is so understanding and never makes me feel like what I’m saying or going through is insignificant or silly or not worthy to be discussed. She always has a way of making sense of what I’m trying to say even if I’m not quite sure how to express it and I always leave the session feeling like I have solutions and/or positive things to work towards. I have grown so much since beginning my therapy here with her.

I work at a hospital. To say 2020- 2022 has been rough feels like an understatement. I could ruminate with coworkers only for so long before it stopped being helpful and was just repetitive complaining. My friends and family have their own stressors and opinions that made venting to them particularly unpleasant.
Having Kathryn listen to me, let me vent, complain and whine, has been good for me and good for those in my life, as well. I'm able to process experiences and feelings out loud with someone specifically giving me space to do so.
I'm not sure I realized how much of a benefit these therapy sessions would yield, but I know now. Having someone that listens to me and lets me sort through some of my daily challenges has helped me feel less isolated and reminds me, 'Yeah, sometimes it IS the world that's going crazy. I'm doing ok. I got this.'
